Gurugram-based wealth management startup Centricity has secured $20 million in a seed funding round, with notable backing from the MS Dhoni Family Office, alongside lead investor Lightspeed and other prominent players like Paramark VC, Burman Family Office, and Shantanu Agarwal.
This investment marks the increasing influence of high-profile family offices, such as that of cricket legend MS Dhoni, in India’s rapidly evolving financial services sector. The funding round values Centricity at $125 million, reflecting a sharp increase from its earlier $20 million valuation in 2022.
Centricity, founded in 2022, aims to simplify investment management for ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNIs) through its Invictus platform, while also empowering financial intermediaries in underserved markets via One Digital. The startup’s ambitious plans include scaling its team, expanding private banking services, and entering new areas like insurance and stock broking, positioning itself as a key player in India’s wealth management landscape.
The MS Dhoni Family Office’s participation in this round highlights the growing role of sports celebrities and their family offices in venture capital, particularly in sectors like fintech that offer high growth potential.
